The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) celebrated its 100th Anniversary on Monday, March 6, 2017 and the hospital’s Family Birthing Center (FBC) welcomed Nora Grace Rohde as the first baby to share the hospital’s Centennial.
Nora, who weighed in at 6-pounds, 8-ounces and was 19-inches in length, was delivered by Andrea Moore, M.D., at 3:23 a.m. on March 6. She is the daughter of Megan & Michael Rohde, Bellevue.
Nora is the couple’s fourth daughter, and joined the family also consisting of 8-year-old Gracie, 7-year-old Ava, and 1-year-old Penelope Rohde.
“I started having contractions at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday night, but I still didn’t think I was in active labor. I drove to the hospital, and I didn’t even have a bag packed with me,” said Megan. “I truly didn’t think I was going to deliver so soon.”
Added Megan, “Once I realized I was going to be delivering, I had to call my husband to get to the hospital with our bags. It all happened pretty fast. I didn’t realize that Nora shared the same birthday as The Bellevue Hospital until Monday morning.”
Nora and her parents received many gifts from The Bellevue Hospital Gift Shop for being the first baby born on the hospital’s Centennial birthday.
Maternal grandparents are Sonja and Kelly Maxwell, Fremont and Artie & Connie Hernandez, Fremont. Paternal grandparents are Keith and Jo Ann Rohde, Clyde.
