Having a baby is an exciting and life-changing event, that can sometimes lead new moms to feel overwhelmed with questions. That is why The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) is excited to announce the return of the M.O.M.S. (Mothers Offering Mutual Support) program.
This free breastfeeding support group provides a friendly, non-judgmental and supportive environment that encourages and supports a new mother’s choice to breastfeed her child.
“This group is a place for new moms to come with questions and concerns, or just to meet and share experiences with other new mothers and their babies who are also dealing with the challenges of these early months,” said Holly Bollenbacher, RN, director of the Family Birthing Center.
“Motherhood brings new changes and sometimes the feeling of isolation. This service addresses those subjects and fosters relationships and support among attendees,” added Bollenbacher.
The class is facilitated by a certified lactation consultant and discussions may include breastfeeding topics, life adjustment challenges, sleeping habits and navigating the trials of motherhood.
The M.O.M.S. Support Group will be offered in the Burson Conference Room at TBH’s 1400 W. Main St. location from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. on the upcoming dates:
- June 21
- July 19
- Aug. 16
- Sept. 20
- Oct. 18
- Nov. 15
- Dec. 20
All mothers and their breastfeeding children are welcome to attend this monthly support group. No registration is required.
