Beginning Monday, June 8, The Bellevue Hospital’s Outpatient Laboratory Services will be returning to the Main Laboratory at the hospital, 1400 W. Main St., Bellevue. Normal hours of operation will resume and include 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
“The outpatient lab blood draws were moved in late March to a new location as an extra measure to slow the spread of the coronavirus and other flu-like illnesses,” said Sara Brokaw, vice president of patient care services at The Bellevue Hospital. “As we reopen our services, we decided to bring outpatient lab back into the hospital to streamline the patient experience.”
Patients are asked to call centralized scheduling to schedule appointments and pre-register at 419-483-4040, Ext. 3067. Walk-ins will not be permitted at this time.
“Moving to scheduled appointments ensures that we can maintain proper physical distancing practices in waiting areas,” said Brokaw. “This will keep patients and staff safe, while still providing the needed lab blood draw services.”
To protect patients from the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), TBH has put standard precautions in place including restricting visitors, staggering appointment times to reduce multiple patients in waiting rooms, utilizing masks and personal protective equipment (PPE), and screening both staff and patients by checking temperatures and asking about symptoms of flu-like illnesses.
“When arriving for an outpatient visit, it is best for the patient to arrive close to the scheduled time,” Brokaw added. “Please remember to wear your own cloth face coverings upon arrival to our hospital, outpatient clinics and physicians’ offices and to keep the covering on while traveling through our hospital and medical offices.”
